Google Soon To Be Out Of iPhone. Bing In

Posted on 30 January 2010

Ever since Google has gotten into the mobile phone industry with the release of Google Nexus, Apple Google battle seems to become worse. At present Google is the default search engine on iPhones. However, now this may not be the case.

Most probably Apple will group up with Microsoft and make Bing available on iPhone, instead of Google as the default search engine. For those who remain dubious what Bing is: Bing is a search engine from Microsoft. What sets Bing apart from other search engines like Yahoo, Google is its visual features. The backdrop of the Bing home page changes always and one can find info discussed about the picture and things associated with it. However, the search results are not that good when compared to Google. Nevertheless, one should certainly check out Bing for its graphics (Personally, I use BIng just for its homepage).

Going back to our theme, Bing may take the place of Google on iPhones. This may be a high loss to Google and a big gain to Microsoft. A while ago Google and Apple were two biggies of two unsimilar sectors. but now Google has joined the Mobile market and may be in future it might also give strong competition to Apple. (Though currently there is no Smartphone which is as desirable as iPhone. Blackberry is there, but provides services to a niche segment in contrast to iPhone which is desired by one and all.) The guys at this iphone blog say if change inthe search engine happens, Microsoft may become the largestsearch engine tending to overtake Google.

Unsure what they mean by ‘overtake’: Just for iPhone people or will it also change the usage routine on Desktops and Laptops.  Incase that occurs, that would be news. After all these years of being used to Google, will moving on to Bing seem alright? I know I just said I like Bing but not as much as Google.
