Nexus Two Seems On Its Way. Motorola To Come With A New Smartphone

Posted on 11 February 2010

Motorola fans will probably be quite happy reading this piece of news and will desperately wait for the time to come. But Why?

Motorola recently said that it is introducing a Google branded cell phone. Now that sounds a little interesting. Especially now that Motorola’s Droid has won big and has been awarded the Gadget of the Year 2009; Motorola sure must be contemplating to go ahead with equally good launches. And for this if it teams up with Google, the news won’t be a big surprise.

Motorola a while back had declared that in 2010 it would come out with about 20 new Smartphones. It may actually do that after seeing the huge success of Motorola Droid. (Read here Motorola Droid Named Gadget Of The Year, Rise Of iPhone Killers?…well, personally I do not agree with the last words of the post’s title. iPhone is iPhone, It will take some totally unimaginable gadget to kill iPhone. May be Apple itself launch a gadget so innovative that it really overtakes the iPhone. But oh, why would Apple do something like that.)

Also, last year 2 million Droids were sold, which shows how popular Droid is in the market.  And if Motorola comes with a Smartphone branded by Google, it may have a couple of advantages. Let’s see what the months ahead in 2010 bring for the Smartphone market. Until now it has been quite, no very, dissatisfactory after Nexus One not being able to live up to the Google standard, and iPad being a total show down.

All we can hope is older players launch better cell phones/Smartphones. Motorola hit the market long time after loosing its hold on the market. And the same can be said of Nokia. With E72 it’s time for Nokia to make a big comeback in the market and earn back its lost position in the Smartphone market.
