IPhone 4 Cases – The Quick Fix For Your IPhone 4 Reception Issues.
Posted on 17 July 2010
There have been posts in forums and blogs by the boatd load from iPhone 4 customers about the iPhone antenna and signal issues. The problems all talk about a loss in the signal and the bars that show the signal on the iPhone 4, whether you’re making a call or using the internet.
All things seem to lead to the way you hold your iPhone. The iPhone 4 antenna problem. While it sounds absolutely ridiculous for such an amazing device, unfortunately it is true.I use my iPhone 4 religiously, almost all hours of the day either from home or from work. When the iPhone 4 is held a certain way (which in all honesty seems to be the proper way to hold it), there’s a complete loss of signal. The signal strength goes from full signal right down to just one single bar, or worse, no signal at all with the searching message and a dropped call as your end result.
Apple has been extremely slow in even talking about or responding to this problem, stating just recently that a software update to iOS 4 will correct the problem of the signal bars showing incorrect signal quality. The only word from Apple is not to hold the iPhone that way, and this is supposed to be the only reason for the dropped bars and dropped calls people are expriencing.
There is a quick fix out there for this issue, and it has to do with having an iPhone 4 case on your iPhone. With a case on the iPhone 4, Consumer Reports confirms that the signal loss is gone and it doesn’t matter how you hold your iPhone. It is just another prime example that there is some truth to the rumors about bad designs or the wrong materials being used for the iPhone 4 itself. Now, mind you, I’m a firm believer in putting a case on your iPhone 4.it is a very expensive item, so spending just $10.00 – $20.00 on a cover or case that fully protects your phone just makes perfect sense in my opinion.I certainly don’t want scratches or scuffs on my iPhone 4, but that doesn’t take away from the problem I have with this whole signal issue going on with a brand new phone.
Gizmodo states that Apple may in fact be doing some type of a silent or unannounced recall on the iPhone 4 with certain customers.Swapping out their iPhone 4 with a new one from Apple, and as such, the signal and antenna issue does not seem to be a problem on the swapped out iPhone 4′s.Apple themselves have not publicly stated that there is any type of recall going on, and as such we have to treat this talk of a silent recall as nothing more than a rumor. But a good number of customers have noticed that the signal loss issue has all buy dissappeared on their swapped out iPhone 4. While others continue to have a problem, unless of course, they put their iPhone 4 back in an iPhone case again.

We have just heard that most top brand names for cases not Bumpers are being recalled for the iPhone 4, something to to with the LED flash and the cut out space around it not being enough on most designs causing the light to go back into the camera causing a bounce back and pushes light back into the camera, this problem effectively renders usage of the Flash LED useless unless the case is removed.
So it looks like the bumpers are going to be very popular for the foreseeable future.
So we will happily keep eveery one informed of this progress.
