Posted on 02 August 2009

Sony Ericsson P990i is one of the many cellular devices produced by a company with an international reputation in electronics and communications. As it happens with most other electronic devices, there are pros and cons about this product that should be carefully analyzed before going shopping.

According to both experts and users Sony Ericsson P990i is one of the best of Sony Ericsson smart phones. The sleek design and the QWERTY keyboard speak of it as relying on one of the latest technologies in mobiles manufacturing. The business card scanner, the video recording option with the Wi-Fi networks, the 3G/UMTS platforms, the music player, the good photo camera, make by far the best advertising means for this cellular.

The weak part of Sony Ericsson P990i can be identified in the rather bulky size, the spicy price and the too small keyboard. Thus, although the perfect choice for tech-minded users, the price of this telephone is by far out of the reach of an average buyer.

Sony Ericsson P990i phone has a memory stick PRO Duo and its installed flash memory is of 64 MB. There are lots of things this design provides for messaging/data services, and here we refer to WAP 2.0, email applications, messaging, voice mail, Internet browser, JAVA applications and many others.

The phone also is also jam-packed with a lot of features in the cellular area such as WCDMA (UMTS)/GMS technology, WCDMA (UMTS)/GSM 900/1800/1900, vibrating alert, automatic redial, call divert, call barring, call hold, call timer, caller ID, call waiting, volume control, internal antenna, ringer control, conference call capability, computer link, speakerphone, voice recorder, call transfer, polyphonic ringer, melody composer and so on.

The Infrared, the IEE 802.11b, the Radio Data Service and the Bluetooth  are several other additional characteristics available with this modern smart phone. Music lovers also benefit from the AAC, MP3 digital audio standards of Sony Ericsson P990i. Besides, you should consider the talk time of up to 540 minutes and the standby time of up to 400 hours. It also has a very audible battery alert.

Ever since Sony Ericsson P990i was first announced by the company in its concept form, it has incited many high-tech interested users and professionals who need or want to be up-to-date with the latest trends. But, as we’ve already said, the phone is also a budgetary challenge for many of those interested in the purchase.
