T-Mobile USA unveils the Motorola CLIQ with MOTOBLUR.

T-Mobile USA, Inc. Today made an announcement about the upcoming availability of the Motorola CLIQ with MOTOBLUR, the first Android-powered device from Motorola, Inc.  ( NYSE : MOT ) and the 1st device to feature the innovative MOTOBLUR solution.  The CLIQ will be available solely in the U.S.  From T-Mobile later Q4.

For those that are not sure what a smartphone is we have provided the following reason.  A smartphone is a small, all-in-one device that’s used for communication and computing functions.  In contrast to normal cell phones, smartphones allow users to select the applications that they want to install and use.

A keyboard should PLUG IN ( not be a part of the shell ).  Use as a tablet / touchscreen without the keyboard, and as a standard laptop with keyboard plugged in. 

Developed by Motorola, MOTOBLUR is an inventive solution that manages and integrates communications – from work email to social networking activity – on your CLIQ.  Updates to contacts, posts, messages, photographs and more are streamed together and synced from sources including Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Gmail, and work and private e-mail.  MOTOBLUR mechanically delivers these updates to the home screen in easy-to-view streams so there isn’t any need to open and close different mobile applications to keep abreast of the latest content.  A 3G-capable smartphone featuring a slide-out normal keyboard and a full touch screen display, the CLIQ is designed to keep the conversation moving, enabling fast messaging on an improvised basis and straightforward navigation thru MOTOBLUR’s streams and widgets.  

Cole Brodman, chief technology and innovation officer with T-Mobile USA, jointly showcased CLIQ with MOTOBLUR today with Sanjay Jha, co-CEO of Motorola and manager of Motorola Mobile Devices, at GigaOM’s muster 09 meeting. 

Jha announced,’We’re pleased to announce our first Android-powered device in association with T-Mobile USA.  Motorola CLIQ with MOTOBLUR differentiates the Android experience for patrons by being the only smartphone that automatically syncs conversations, contacts and content, and delivers a solution that’s's instinctive, social and smart.’

The CLIQ delivers a trustworthy mobile Web experience by harnessing the power and speed of T-Mobile’s 3G network and Wi-Fi.  Extra CLIQ features include a 3.1-inch HVGA touch-screen display, a 5 megapixel car focus camera with video capture and playback at twenty-four frames per second, a 3.5mm headset jack, a music player with pre-loaded Amazon MP3 store application, Shazam, iMeem Mobile, and a pre-installed 2GB microSD memory card with support for as much as 32 GB of removable memory.

T-Mobile’s 3G network is currently available in 2 hundred cities countrywide and covers more than 150 million folks.  By the end of 2009, T-Mobile USA expects its 3G network to be available to approximately 200 million people across the U.S.
